The Bearing Witness: The Voices of Our Survivors
project consists of photographic portraits and a documentary film sharing the stories of six local survivors of the Holocaust. Heather Elliott-Famularo, Director and Producer, Hindea Marchowivz, Assistant Producer, and Dena Elisabeth Eber, Photographer and Assistant Producer created the film and photographs, which represent the first version of the project.
Sixty-five students in grades 7–12 from three area synagogues' Sunday Schools helped interview the six survivors, which both connected today's youth with these remaining survivors and documented their stories for future generations to study.
The Bearing Witness: The Voices of Our Survivors project is sponsored by the Ruth Fajerman Markowicz Holocaust Resource Center of Greater Toledo, which is part of the United Jewish Council of Greater Toledo, the BGSU School of Art and the artists.
